Static Eliminators for Packaging

Packaging processes like winding, overwrapping, and sleeving often generate static. This draws in dust, causes film to cling to the wrong surfaces, and leads to jams and rejects. TAKK static eliminators neutralize these charges to improve quality and reduce waste.

Form, Fill & Seal

As film unwinds and runs over rollers, static builds and attracts particles into the seal area. Contamination here causes weak or incomplete seals and quality issues.

Install static eliminators on both sides of the film just before the sealing bar to neutralize charge, keep seal areas clean, and ensure consistent sealing.

Recommended solution:

Overwrapping film being applied to product

Overwrapping

During overwrapping, the unwinding film can become highly charged, attracting airborne contaminants and increasing jam risk.

Place a static eliminator at the unwind to prevent build-up and another before rewind to maintain roll quality—reducing waste and downtime.

Recommended solutions:

Shrink sleeve tamper band application

Tamper-Proof Seals / Sleeving

Static generated as the sleeve unwinds can cause the band to repel or snap to the container too quickly, leading to misplacement, jams, and scrap.

Neutralize the charge just before the cutting/fitting area to stabilize sleeve behavior, reduce waste, and boost throughput.

Recommended solutions:

Extrusion blow molding parisons entering mold

Blow Molding

When parisons exit the die, strong static can make them cling to grounded mold surfaces or repel each other on multi-head lines—hurting quality and yield.

Apply ionization where the plastic is extruded and as it enters the mold to neutralize charge and prevent defects.

Recommended solutions:

Film winding on a roll

Winding

As material separates from the roll, static attracts dust and debris—causing rejects, waste, and operator shocks.

Mount a static eliminator at the roll surface for both unwind and rewind to keep webs clean and operators safe.

Recommended solutions:

Plastic bottles on a conveyor for rinsing and destat

Bottle Rinsing & Destat

Lightweight bottles can accumulate static that holds dust inside and causes handling issues during conveyance and filling.

Use ionized air to neutralize charge and dislodge particles before filling for cleaner bottles and smoother downstream operations.
